Do you already know what sustainable finance is? I recently learned a great deal about this topic from a webinar hosted by Mata Garuda (@matagaruda.lpdp). Here's the essence of what I gathered: Sustainable Finance involves comprehensive support from the financial services sector to achieve sustainable economic growth by aligning economic, social, and environmental interests. In this context, the government plays a crucial role by providing incentives through sustainable financing to encourage the growth of sustainable projects, particularly in the energy transition sector and the development of SMEs. The government aims to enhance the competitiveness of sustainable projects by offering lower interest rates and longer tenor facilities compared to conventional financing. This decision aligns with the understanding that sustainable projects often take longer to achieve significant growth compared to non-sustainable ones. These efforts not only support the development of sustainable projects but also create a conducive environment for sustainable financing, in accordance with the government's commitment to achieving sustainable development goals.
